Kshanasurya was born to a farmer family of Bhuj, Gujarat. He studied in an affluent family and his life turned upside down after he failed his 12th board examination. He was forced to work at a company's training center. His life changed completely after he joined the Lohana community of dalits (untouchables)
Kshanasurya has written some novels, short stories and poetry. His novel, "Bhavni-Tara" (The story of Bhavni), got translated into English, French, German and Chinese languages. Kshanasurya has also won the State Award for Gujarati Short Story for his novel "Paltu-Taru".
